In this class, students will be reading various types of literature, fiction and non-fiction. Students will be required to read one book from a class selection and complete a project on it. From their readings, they will zone in on elements including author's purpose, extracting themes, analyzing character development, and more. To complement their reading, daily writing exercises will refine their ability to summarize and pick out the main ideas in the text. Essentially, this class helps promote a deeper love of reading in students. The class will end with an exciting spelling bee!
