Marshmallow Minds is a non-profit Design and Project Based Learning Institute focused on building children’s innovative problem solving skills and Creative Confidence through Design Thinking and STE(A)M education. Since 2016, Marshmallow Minds has delivered quality Design Thinking and STE(A)M programs to thousands of students in public schools in Santa Clara County. Why Learn The Design Thinking?

Design Thinking begins with empathy. Human values(usability, desirability), Technology(feasibility) and Business(viability) converge when empathy becomes the driving force to design innovation. Empathy focuses on the needs of the user and forces the children to first ask the question “Why?”. Then comes the “How Might We?” which triggers the “What if?” leading to an opportunity to innovate.

Through age appropriate STE(A)M design challenges, our K-8 programs (Steamx-dt-4Schools, Stop Drop Design and Summer Camp) embed a love of learning and problem solving through empathy, hands-on exploration and engineering. Our programs
