This camp is open to any and all players, only limited by age and total number of players welcomed.
Skill and Drill Segment
The Advanced Kids Camp is designed to build upon the fundamentals learned from the Stanford Baseball School and Games Camp. This camp is an all-day, more detailed experience that is designed to provide campers with the next level knowledge of baseball. This camp is crafted for those who want a more advanced and technical baseball experience. In addition to repetition, players will be exposed to more detailed instruction during station and drill work.
Players will be grouped by age, ability and prior baseball experience. The Skill and Drill Circuit emphasis will be on fundamental progression and skill development. Daily stations will include outfield play, infield play, pitching, base-running, throwing development, hitting instruction, and much more. Our hitting instruction and drills take place in both Stanford’s batting cage facility and on the main diamond. The astro-turfed cages are covered so campers are out of the direct sun light.
Games Segment
The games segment of the camp is “coach pitch” for an emphasis on contact and action. This low-pressure atmosphere allows for many offensive and defensive opportunities in order to provide a great learning experience. The Stanford coaches believe that the games create a great opportunity to learn and develop at game speed. It is their feeling that in this atmosphere kids can learn and develop best. While improvement takes hard work and focus there is still a need to learn, relax and play instinctively. Games will be played on Sunken Diamond, or the adjoining astro-turf and grass fields.
