At the workshop Girl Scouts will explore theatre arts by working with
a stage make-up artist to design a make-up poster and to apply make-up to themselves or a paper actor as if they were the historical characters they chose to research
a costumer to create a costume chart and costume, using items from the RRT costume shop
a technician to make a simple prop, if time allows
Before coming to the workshop, each Girl Scout should research 1 or 2 historical characters to focus on at the workshop (see “Playing the Past” for more details). If possible, Juniors will tour the adjoining historic Missouri Theatre, a national landmark built in 1927, where RRT produces its musicals.
Additional Informatiom: 30 slots are available for each workshop; girls may come as a troop or as an individual. Parking is available on the street or in the News Press parking lot across the street. Girls will complete three steps in the badge, but badges are included in the fee.
