Is your style loose and expressive, or do you prefer to work cleanly and meticulously? Do you enjoy making realistic portraits, or would you rather draw characters from your imagination? Whatever your inclination, this class will help you harness your artistic voice to create stunning illustrated portraits. Projects inspired by historical and contemporary artworks will challenge you to focus on the elements of line, form, value, color, and texture.
A typical class will include a short presentation about a particular artwork or concept, a demonstration, and time for students to work, ask questions, share what they create, and engage in class critique.
