What you'll do
Create a collection of gear for an especially super superhero—you! In this weeklong class, you’ll transform into superpowered hero, putting your paper construction skills to the test to craft a custom costume and emblem, along with all the world-saving equipment you need to stock your secret headquarters.
Start by imagining what kind of hero you’ll be, then be courageous as you share ideas for your alter ego’s awesome name and amazing powers. Design a boldly patterned insignia along with a wearable cape and a symmetrical mask to display it on. Master 3D paper construction techniques to make a strong, rolled-paper staff that emits propulsive rays of cotton-ball power. Engineer a mighty grappling hook and be determined as you reinforce, test and redesign until it’s ready to use on a high-stakes training mission. Wrap up the week by dreaming up a trusty sidekick and designing a safe, sturdy vehicle that can withstand a launch off a table, then speed away to save the day.
Note:
This weeklong class is more than innovation-igniting projects—it’s an immersive experience full of delightful details, including interactive games, silly traditions, snacks (see Additional Prep, below) and dress-up days designed to build community, bolster confidence and deliver loads of camp-away-from-camp fun.
