What you'll do
Design a picture-perfect portfolio of fresh, funny digital art in this imaginative weeklong class. Explore design program Pixlr E as you master the ins and outs of digital design, tackling specific photo-editing challenges, open-ended personal projects and everything in between.
Start the week by discovering the fun you can have with open-source images.Be determined as you learn new skills like masking to replace backgrounds and blending different elements of two pictures together to make fantastical custom photos. Put yourself in the picture by snapping a selfie, extracting the photo and using filters and overlay tools to reimagine it. Use Pixlr’s drawing tools to sketch a figure and transform it into an animated gif. Try your hand at text tools, then be visionary
in brainstorming an idea for an original project with an audience, outcome and medium of your choosing. Come away with a host of new digital design skills and an array of amazing art pieces.
Note:
This weeklong class is more than innovation-igniting projects—it’s an immersive experience full of delightful details, including interactive games, silly traditions, snacks (see Additional Prep, below) and dress up days designed to build community, bolster confidence and deliver loads of camp-away-from-camp fun.
Kids will have ongoing access to their Pixlr E accounts so they can keep working on their digital art after camp.
