Week 1 Les dinosaures / Dinosaurs: July 3 - 7 Dinosaurs may be extinct but preschoolers’ interest in them is definitely not. Perhaps you even know a preschooler who can recite all dinosaur names and facts about each one. Their natural interest in dinosaurs sparks their curiosity and magically lengthens their attention spans! During this first summer camp week, our campers will get an understanding about the timeline, history, extinction, evolution and environmental issues of the dinosaurs. They will learn about some of the oldest animals that have ever roamed the planet. they will discover many different types of dinosaurs and be able to summarize their unique traits. They will also be able to talk about when, how and where dinosaurs lived. Children will have a lot of fun making art and craft, sensory activities and more around this engaging theme!
Week 2 L’espace et les planètes / Space and planets: July 10 - 14
As preschoolers understand more and more about their surroundings, they begin to think about things beyond their own experiences. They wonder about the sky and what’s in it, they want to explore space by becoming real astronauts! So let’s have our campers become astronauts for a week and take them on a trip to outer space! They will learn and discover all about our planet “Earth” and the solar system. During this second summer camp week, our campers will get opportunities to do art projects, create and explore, to do science experiments, and imaginative play all around space and planets!
Week 3 Chevaliers, princesses et chateaux forts / Knights, princesses and castles: July 17 - 21 Preschoolers love fantasy play and this theme "plays" right into that! There is so much potential to draw children into learning with this theme! Throughout this third week , our campers will play the role of knights and princesses. They will be crafting crowns, shields..etc. They will be Transformed into a king or queen. The children will dress up as their favorite king or princesse. Our teachers will provide a lot of opportunities to our campers to develop their sense of creativity and imagination!
Week 4 Le monde sous-marin / The underwater world: July 24 - 28
This theme is a fascinating topic among young children and is one of the most popular preschool themes. Let's dive under water and explore its wonderful world! During this fourth summer camp week, our campers will understand how everything is connected in the ocean and how we interact with it as humans. Children will learn to care and protect the ocean because they will want it to be a better place, not just for the fish, but for them too. Our campers will be able to recognize and identify different kinds of common ocean animals, share a few details about various ocean creatures, recognize that some animals are larger than others and how the marine ecosystem works.
Week 5 Les pays francophones / All French-speaking countries: July 31 - August 4 French is a young, vibrant, international language, it is the official language of 29 countries. It is the only language other than English to be spoken on all five continents! People who are fluent in French are commonly referred to as “Francophones”. During this fifth week, our campers, our little Francophones, will travel to all French-speaking countries. They will learn about their cultural and linguistic diversity. Our campers will also be cooking, discovering, and tasting different francophone dishes, yum!!
Week 6 Cirque et magie / Circus and magic: August 7 - 11 The greatest show is about to begin! During this last summer camp week, our campers will enjoy dressing up as clowns, jumping like lions through hoops, and pretending to walk a tightrope. They will turn their classroom ceiling into the top of a circus tent with scarves or a parachute. Our campers will enjoy the show as children learn under the big top through song, rhyme, movement, and art activities, and more! Teachers will also use this theme to teach our little ones how to protect and respect the animals. This week, our campers will have the surprise to see magic at ABS, we will be bringing a magician to ABS!
