The Intermediate Reading Class extends reading skills by following four methods to read and comprehend words, phrases and sentences.
Students in the Intermediate Reading Class will master reading complex multi-syllable words embedded in appropriate grade level stories and will learn new vowel groups with non-standard phonetic sounds. They will learn to recognize and spell sight words, answer questions about the story, and practice composing basic descriptive, narrative, and compare-contrast paragraphs with sentence starters.
