During this course you will learn how to create user interfaces, develop simple games for Android devices, utilize device sensors, and create your own virtual assistant like Siri or Alexa.
Run the apps you create on your Android device or emulator (a physical device is strongly recommended as many of the sensors we will be using are not present in the emulator).
In this Level, students will work on the following projects:
• Create a simple app with a pictures and sounds, package their app and make it available on an Android device
• Create a paint app where the user can use paint brushes of different colors to update an image
Prerequisites: We recommend students to have done a some programming before, using a block programming language like Scratch, Blockly, Code.org, however, this is not mandatory.

Supporting English language learners is important to Code For Fun. We provide fliers in both English and Spanish (other languages upon request). As well, we engage students in peer programming which provides a wonderful place for students to practice vocabulary in partnership with others while coding together. The Code For Fun Instructor provides instructions verbally as well as in written text on slides and handouts.
