This camp is dedicated to various aspects of American nature and culture. We look at the United States through the eyes of American artists, and create artworks that express our view on our country.
Day 1:
American Landscape Painters: Rockwell Kent, Georgia O'Keeffe, Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth. Students paint their favorite places in the US, following styles of their favorite artists.
Full day students paint on bigger canvases or make 2 artworks.
Day 2:
American Comic Artists: Neil Adams, George Perez, Jack Kirby, Dav Pilkey. Students create drawings with their favorite comic characters, or come up with their own characters and draw a comic strip about their adventures!
Half-day students draw characters in different poses, full day students make comic strips.
Day 3:
American Films: Star Wars, Avengers, animation movies by Disney and Pixar. Students paint portraits of their favorite movie characters, and learn to draw human faces.
Full day students paint on bigger canvases or make 2 artworks.
Day 4:
American Modernism: Jackson Pollock, Roy Lichtenstein, Endy Warholl, Ed Ruscha, Frank Stella. Students create art pieces in selected styles
