In this class students will examine story elements and vocabulary associated with mystery stories through Directed Learning– Thinking Activities and fun. Students then track these features as they become a part of their own mystery. Through books, online resources and Role-Playing. Students plan their own original mystery stories as they build skills in Literary elements such as character, setting, plot, point of view, theme, and tone, along the way developing a love and appreciation for the mystery genre.
Extented care schedule:
- Grade 4-8 1(June 24- July 3)
- Grade 4-8 2(July 8- July 18)
- Grade 4-8 3(July 22- August 1)
This is an extended-care period for students between 3:45 pm and 5:30 pm. After Hours invites students to participate in popular board games, card games, sports games, and parlor games, in addition to arts and crafts.
