AP Language and Composition is an English language course created by the College Board as part of the Advanced Placement (AP) curriculum. AP Language and Composition is typically the first AP English course taken by high school students on the Advanced Placement track. The course is designed to help students increase reading proficiency for prose written in a variety of rhetorical contexts and increase writing ability across a variety of essay types.
In this workshop, students will follow a streamlined curriculum for AP Language and Composition. Through weekly meetings, students will learn and practice the three types of essays covered in the course: synthesis essays, rhetorical analysis essays, and argument essays.
