San Francisco Friends School

The San Francisco Friends School moved into its permanent home at 250 Valencia Street, in the refurbished Levi Strauss building, in the fall of 2008. Architect Peter Pfau designed the school to retain the open, light feeling of the historic space, and honored the school's mission with close attention to sustainability and simplicity. In the fall of 2009, we added a gymnasium, two studios, and three classrooms to the third floor of the building, and two classrooms and two science labs to the second floor. In the fall of 2013, we completed construction on the building, adding an additional 12,000 square feet, including a Learning Commons, outdoor deck, instrumental and choral music rooms, and a black box theater. Five years after moving in, our 80,000 square foot building is complete.
