Join a robotics “pit crew” in this hands-on, team-based course. Students start building with VEX on day one, learning the mechanics to construct their robots. Then they’ll program the robot to run both with remote controls and autonomously using ROBOTC, the premiere robotics programming language. Make robots that compete in challenges, respond to their environment with sonar and touch sensors, or lift heavy objects. What will your student build?
Prerequisite: Ability to work in a team. Each student will be provided with an individual computer and will share robotics equipment.
In this course, your student will:
- Program robotics with graphical code blocks
- Work with autonomous and remote-controlled robots
- Compete against other teams in challenges with VEX
- Explore concepts of effective structural design.
Your student will take home:
