Toy Design I
Toy design I involves learning to use fabrics as a material for making toys. Budding toy designers and makers will learn how to turn their own unique design from a sketch into a furry, funny or fiery plush creation. Students will learn how to use and adapt patterns, develop practical skills in cutting, pinning, hand & machine sewing and gain a valuable understanding of the toy design and development process.
Toy Design II
Toy Design II involves learning to use wood as a material for making toys. Our budding toy/game designers create their own game or toy while gaining an understanding of the ‘play’ element in the toys and games they encounter in their lives. They will learn skills in geometry, planning and visualizing in 3D form and get comfortable with tools like hammer, nails and saws that are used in the construction of harder materials. Kids get to proudly display their creations at the Toy Expo at the end of the session.
ELL
DesignX does not provide translators but the programs are project based and hands-on so if the student is able to keep up and follow by observing and watching demonstrations they are welcome to attend.
