This class emphasizes building basic/intermediate knowledge of jewelry design and construction. Beginning students will design their own jewelry and construct their design pieces using the fundamental techniques of soldering, sawing, filing, finishing, and basic bezel setting. Lectures, demonstrations, and handouts will provide the basis of any technique needed. Intermediate students will pogress through more advanced techniques (forging, cold connections, etching, etc). Jewelry will be made form metal sheet and wire. Brass, copper, and tools are provided. New students need to attend the first class for a safety discussion and a materials list.
