Participants build on the skills learned in Preschool Aquatics Level 1 and 2 by providing additional guided practice of basic aquatic skills at slightly more proficient performance levels and greater distances and times. Children learn to improve their coordination of combined simultaneous arm and leg actions and alternating arm and leg actions. All skills completed independently by the student.
In order to pass Preschool Aquatics Level 3, children must be able to complete the following:
- Enter water by jumping in.
- Fully submerge and hold breath.
- Complete a bob.
- Front jellyfish float and front tuck float.
- Back float and back glide.
- Front glide and recover to vertical position.
- Change direction of swimming on front or back.
- Back glide and recover to vertical position.
- Back float and recover to vertical position.
- Roll from front to back and from back to front.
- Demonstrate treading action.
- Combined arm and leg action on front and on back.
- Finning arm action on back.
