In this half day camp for teens, actors will work with their instructor (Meg Fischer Venuti) to reinvent the tale of Cinderella and add a new twist to the classic story. Focusing on storytelling, character development, themes, and concept, campers will create an original script that they will take part in performing. Final performance will be filmed via zoom on the final day of camp and made available for friends and family.
Each day of camp will include a balance of synchronous time onscreen, independent time where campers work according to given instructions, and opportunities for questions, feedback, and check ins along the way. Students will exercise both their minds and bodies as they participate in physical warm ups and games, create costumes and props, and brainstorm with both the instructor and their fellow campers. You won't want to miss this unique, interactive opportunity to get those artistic juices flowing!
