Make friends with a horse! Basic horsemanship is a 4-week
consecutive class for kids, teenagers, and adults. Students will
be hands-on while working with a horse for the first three weeks.
They will learn proper grooming, our different grooming tools,
safety, herd behavior, how to lead, how to halter and catch a
horse, lunging, parts of a saddle, parts of a horse, colors and
markings, hoof care, and minor wound care. The last class is a
one-hour riding lesson with our qualified instructors in the horse
arena.
Please Note:
• Class held at Ed Levin Park Arena: 3100 Calaveras Road.,
Milpitas.
• When turning into Ed Levin Park from Calaveras Road,
continue to follow Spring Valley Road to reach the arena.
• Please bring water, wear closed toed shoes, long pants,
and wear layers.
• Helmets are provided at no cost.
