Have you wondered what it would be like to work at a computer animation studio, as a game developer, or as a composer of electronic dance music? In this course, we will create pictures, animations, music, and interactive games using computers. We'll learn about fundamental topics in computer programming, such as variables, loops, conditionals, and method calls. Once you have these tools at your command, you will have the opportunity to create increasingly complex and remarkable projects! In our collaborative computer lab, you will have the freedom to see how far you can take your programs as we learn about more advanced modules for the Scratch programming environment. You'll also be able to take your work home so you can show your friends and family. The software that we will use is free, so you can continue learning and creating even after the class is over. This course is designed for students who have some experience with Scratch programming; however, students new to Scratch will be quickly brought up to speed and are welcome to apply!
