This fun new class teaches early literacy skills through music and dance! Young children seem to be naturally “wired” for sound and rhythm. Besides providing enjoyment, music plays an important role in language and literacy development. Strong social bonds are encouraged through music and songs beginning in preschool. Learning the words to songs help with memory, rhythm helps children learn to rhyme words, dancing helps children learn balance and develop their gross motor skills. This is a parent participation class. Parents will learn the songs and learn the techniques they can use to help support early literacy skills with their children. Class will include music and movement, story time and art activities related to the books read at story time.
