Devised Theatre Camp

Led by Master Teaching Artists, La Jolla Playhouse’s Devised Theatre Camp is an exciting, personalized exploration of community and history through documentary-style theatre. Students in grades 9-12 will participate in ensemble-building theatre exercises; practice mindfulness; explore elements of storytelling and stories from within their own community to understand various perspectives on a single topic; learn performance techniques and how to conduct an informational interview; gain exposure to various careers in the theatre; and edit and revise language to create a focused piece of theatre to perform for family and friends.
