Intro to Guitar

Learn to play guitar! In CSMA's Intro to Guitar classes, students learn chords, strumming patterns, finger picking, guitar tablature, elementary sight reading, and more in a supportive, nurturing group environment. Classes are designed to prepare students for future private lesson study.

Registration Note: Each class is limited to 5 students and must meet a minimum enrollment by 1/13/24 to run for the spring term.

Materials: Students must provide their own guitar and bring it to every class. If you are purchasing a guitar for the first time, please ensure that you buy the appropriate size for your student (a 3/4-sized guitar is appropriate for most elementary and middle school-aged students.)

Additional Information: Please Note: Effective September 6, 2022, face coverings are highly recommended but not required on campus. Individual faculty may choose to continue requiring masks in their studios or classrooms. CSMA supports faculty in making this decision for their individual studios/classes.

Number of Class Meetings: 16 (No classes Feb. 20, Apr. 9, Apr. 11-15, and May 27-29)

Spring Semester:

Number of Class Meetings: 16 (no classes 2/19, 3/31, 4/9-4/13)
