Mentorship Camp The Mentorship Camp is designed to develop and apply leadership skills for Athena Camps and into life. This day-long camp includes personal reflection, group discussions, conflict resolution techniques, boundary setting scenarios, communication skills and community building exercises and more. This camp is required for all new Junior Coaches and Interns.
Junior Coach, grades 6-8 Junior Coaches sign up weekly and assist the Coaches with Mini Athena Campers Monday–Friday 8:30am-3pm. The Mentorship is required for all new Junior Coaches. Junior Coaches take an active role in building our community of girls who inspire and uplift each other by serving as a role model to the Mini campers ages 4-6 years old. Daily duties include: demonstrating sports and art projects, organize camp supplies, minor first aid and lunchtime play. Most importantly, Junior Coaches engage with Mini campers, encouraging them to get to know each other try new things.
Interns, grades 9-12 Interns may sign up for one week or all eight. Hours are Monday – Friday, 8:30am-3:00pm. The Mentorship is required for all new Interns. Interns gain valuable leadership experience, have the opportunity to experience an inspiring curriculum and genuine sisterhood. Interns work alongside the Camp Coaches and Directors in a variety of ways such as: teaching sports, facilitating art projects, attending to minor injuries, and much more.
