Come spend part of your summer working with campers, building friendships, learning leadership skills, exploring and enjoying the San Joaquin River!
The San Joaquin River Parkway and Conservation Trust is looking for energetic, fun-loving high school students who are interested in developing their leadership and communication skills as well as gaining experience working with younger children.
Junior Leaders assist River Camp Staff in leading a variety of activities each day including arts and crafts, swimming, canoeing, games, and songs. They act as role models for the campers, demonstrating a spirit of respect for the environment, cooperation with camp rules and guidelines, and willingness to work and play with everyone at River Camp. The Junior Leaders program includes the opportunity for teens to participate in team-building and leadership activities with their peers during the one-week camp session.
Ages: Entering 9th through 12th grades
Each week a few Junior Leaders assist with the Young Explorers pre-k program at the River Center. Junior Leaders assist counselors with the group as a whole, and take the lead on a variety of activities throughout the week. As the Young Explorer's program only runs 9:00 am- 12:00 pm Tuesday-Thursday, this program is great for those Junior Leaders with afternoon engagements (sports camps, etc.).

- June 25-27 (Week 3)

We welcome campers with special needs so long as having them in a group does not prevent the counselor from performing the basic functions of their job.
