French Language Program is designed to enable grades 3-8 students to achieve the following skills: communicate effectively in French using the listening comprehension, speaking, viewing, reading comprehension, and writing grammar and composition (effective communication), demonstrate a better understanding of their own and others’ cultural heritage and identity including the “French-speaking communities” (culturally savvy), demonstrate preparedness for future learning, particularly where French is the language of instruction or appetite for other languages (diversity), work and learn purposefully, both independently and in groups (personal development), solve problems individually and collaboratively (problem-solving), express their ideas and feelings using various art forms, including architecture, paintings and music (aesthetic creativity), locate, evaluate, adapt, create, and share information using a variety of sources and technologies (technological competence).
