Everyone in our society is dealing with historic levels of toxic stress (particularly here in Silicon Valley). Teens and young adults have it particularly hard given the mounting stress of school, peers, social media and other societal pressures. Elevated and ongoing stress will lead to mental, emotional and physical breakdown.
This class allows family members to learn and practice together invaluable tools that explore how to live life with greater peace, contentment, and well-being. Learn about mindful meditation, breathing and moving plus how to improve positivity and gratitude. Each participant must be accompanied by a paid adult.
All under 18 participants must be accompanied by an enrolled parent. Bring to class a yoga mat. Recommended book for young adults: The Stress Reduction Workbook for Teens by Gina Biegel. Recommended book for adults: A Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workbook by Bob Stahl and Elisha Goldstein. Instructor: Tom Fandre has been mentoring and counseling teens and their families for 20 years. Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction helped cure his chronic stress ten years ago and since then he’s been a practicer and promoter of living life with greater present moment awareness.
