Focusing on short poses, students will use different media (pen, pencil, charcoal, and watercolor) and practice techniques and exercises including blind drawing (not looking at the paper), to develop hand-eye coordination and to improve the liveliness and expression of their drawings of the human figure along with their overall drawing skills. Elements of drawing (lines, lost edges, connections, focal point, color, etc...), as well as strategies for gesture drawing (such as key anatomical elements to look for, and in which order to start and develop the drawing) will be addressed. This online class will use photos and timed videos of models as references. Demonstrations and critiques are an important part of the class, and students can expect to receive individual attention throughout.
lass is still open for enrollment, late registrants have access to videos recorded from previous class meetings.
