Gear up for a fun summer and experience lifeguarding first hand. Teens will learn about basic water rescue and emergency response, water safety, and hazards in aquatic environments. Teens will also strengthen leadership skills and build confidence through daily aquatic fitness conditioning and team building activities. After successful completion of Junior Lifeguard Training, teens are eligible to register for Junior Lifeguard Job Shadow (Class number MCSKEB), working as an aide at the pool to earn community service hours. Note: On the first day, a parent/guardian must attend while their teen conducts a prerequisite swim test of swimming 25 yards of freestyle, 25 yards of breaststroke followed by treading water for one minute. Additionally, teens must do a 30 second back float or swim 25 yards of backstroke followed by submerge and swim underwater.
