Jazz is a general style of dance that originated in 20th century America and combines elements of various other dance styles. Different styles of Jazz include Broadway, Funk, Pop, Lyrical, and more. Highlights of jazz include isolations, turns, and jumps. The style teaches technical elements, but also focuses on musicality and emotion. Jazz is an excellent supplemental class for Musical Theater. It will make the performers more aware of their stage presence, posture, timing, and movement.
