- Volunteer and High School Players supervise sessions
- Environment for players to play freely
- Develops social skills, and physical well being
- Emphasis on fun, participation, learning through play
- Freedom to express themselves in a low pressure environment, resulting in creative problem solving
- A skill of the week will be taught to players before breaking off in to small sided games
Session Structure: Players will be shown a skill of the week, where they will practice the individual skill. Following the individual skill, the pool will then play 4v4 games. The emphasis of Fremont YSC Play is the importance of free play and having fun.
Player Pools: During the first week of the program players will be assigned to groups by the level of play. From watching all the players, groups will be made up for the remainder of the season. This puts players into groups where they will be challenged by others in their scrimmages.
This set up encourages more opportunities for players to take on defenders in 1v1 situations, have more attempts at goal scoring opportunities, and get significantly more touches on the ball. At the same time, this will also encourage an environment of belonging to a club, rather than an individual team, and will continue to develop the individual’s social skills by interacting and meeting with new people each week.
