Mission
The Dallas Park and Recreation Department’s mission is to champion lifelong recreation and serve as responsible stewards of the city’s parks, trails, and open spaces.
Vision
With that mission in mind, the Department’s vision for the future is for a comprehensive system of parks, trails, open spaces, and recreation facilities that sustains, inspires, and invigorates.
The Dallas Park and Recreation Department offers programs specifically designed to meet the needs and abilities of individuals with disabilities. We offer a continuum of services for individuals of all ages that provide opportunities to improve quality of life, foster independence, make friends, and boost self-esteem.
Residents of the City of Dallas may apply for financial assistance. Approval of the application is made on an individual basis. Individuals who receive any type of government assistance are automatically eligible for a scholarship. Please contact for more details.
