Kickin’ Cubs are students 3 to 5 years of age. These students follow a different ranking system than students 5 years of age and above. Kickin’ Cub classes are only a half-hour in length to account for the younger student’s shorter attention span. Classes teach students reaction training, eye-hand coordination, and listening skills, along with a simplified martial arts curriculum.
The additional ranks at this level allow the Kickin’ Cub students to progress at a more manageable rate which gives them more time to develop their martial arts skills.
The colored stripes on the White Belt are unique to Kickin’ Cubs. These belts fit in the standard ranking system between Big Tiger White Belt/ Camo (when coming in from KC) and Big Tiger Gold Belt.
NOTE: Not all Kickin’ Cubs will be required to earn all seven of the striped belts before progressing to a Big Tiger Belt. Early graduation from Kickin’ Cub classes to Big Tiger classes is based on the student’s comprehension of techniques and the instructor’s assessment of their readiness to move up to Big Tiger classes.
