As a foundation class for drawing, this class emphasizes the drill and practice of live sketch. Students will learn how to draw shading using pencil, charcoal, color pencils, crayons, oil pastels and markers. They will also practise live sketching static subjects, plaster sculptures, and landscapes. This class is further divided into three levels:
Drawing and Sketch( Level 1 & 2)
As a foundation class for drawing, the Drawing Level 1 class is the introduction of different mediums and their properties, including the elements of art such as line, color, value, space shape and form. The Level 2 class emphasizes the drill and practice of live sketch. Students will learn how to draw shading using pencil, charcoal, color pencils, crayons, oil pastels and markers. They will also practice live sketching static subjects, plaster sculptures, and landscapes.
Drawing and Sketch ( Level 3)
The Classical Realism Drawing Foundation program offers a disciplined study of drawing that is rooted in the method of 19th Century France. The program consists of a step-by-step progression in visual and structured drawing strongly emphasizing drawing from life. Students begin by learning to see and identify the simple shapes in complex objects, understanding value pattern and range,edges, and basic visual composition.
